Inspired by Hale’iwa.
Hale’iwa wasn’t an easy puppy. Untrained, needy, and loud at every hour including the ones most people are asleep for. Every time she needed to go outside, it meant the same walk: out of the bedroom, through the family room, through the kitchen, all the way to the back door. Night after night.
Somewhere in that routine, a different question started forming. Not how do I get her to stop barking but why does this have to be a walk at all. What if letting her out was as simple as pressing a button, wherever you were in the house?
That question sat with me for a while before it became anything. The idea itself took shape about three years ago. For the two and a half years since, it’s been the thing I keep coming back to not as a side project, but as something worth building properly.
Hale’iwa isn’t here to see where this has gone. But she’s the reason it exists at all, and that hasn’t changed as the idea has grown into something real.
Everything we’re building now traces back to that.
